Mission
Naturally Wild LLC works to empower Black-identifying individuals and people of color to reconnect, explore, and engage with their local wildlife and natural spaces. We facilitate care and connection with the environment through immersive educational experiences like bird-watching, nature walks, community clean-ups, and participatory and GIS workshops. We work with organizations to improve the participation of Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color in the outdoors by creating inclusive and diverse outdoor communities through consultations, programs, and media. We encourage participants to come as they are and embrace their full identities as they connect with nature, build community, discover a deeper sense of self, love for science, and care for the environment.
Vision
We strive to create a world where Black individuals and people of color can safely reconnect with the nature in their neighborhoods to find strength and belonging in nature’s spaces. We envision safe, vibrant, and healthy communities that can embrace their natural surroundings, cultivate acceptance and environmental stewardship, while fostering deep connections with wildlife, local ecosystems, and each other.
